This lodge is an expression of our desire to create a warm and romantic place to relax and unwind from life's daily grind. Once stemming from a bed and breakfast theme, the rustic log cabin motif combined with state of the art luxury, makes our lodge unique. Located at the head of Grant's Trail, our lodge is open all year long.

My husband and I booked a stayed here in St. Louis for my Birthday weekend on our way to Branson. We were more than pleased with the unique decor, it was very clean, warm and inviting. The innkeeper Matthew was very friendly and accommodating, he gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and the breakfast was amazing and I even received a birthday card which was a special touch. We would definitely recommend this B&B and will return in the future.
When my husband and I wanted to gift a honeymoon room to my step-daughter and her new husband, our first thought was Grant's Trail since my husband and I got married there 10 years ago and it was fantastic. When I had a conversation with Matthew the GM, he took it upon himself to make this an even more special occasion. He suggested moving them to the Mary Lincoln room since there is a conference room/bedroom (Abe Lincoln Room - has a Murphy bed that folds up into the wall) off of that room where we could have a small party after the private wedding ceremony. Even though on the day of the wedding there was another event in the lodge, you would have thought ours was the only one! Matthew took care of everything - even sneaking a basket up for the newlyweds while we were all enjoying pizza in the adjoining room. Matthew also took care of the setup (drinks, cups, etc) and cleanup of the room after the family left giving the newlyweds some privacy.
The Lodge and the Rooms are exactly as pictured wonderful and warm. The kids loved it and it made planning this event worry free. In this day of minimal customer service it is nice to know that the old values exist and are on display daily.
I cannot begin to describe the excellent accommodations, management, and food we had during our 3 night stay at the lodge. Upon walking in we were greeted by the manager Matthew. The suite was just perfect! A very comfortable king sized bed with soft sheets, the air conditioner was on and a nice cool temp to walk into from the 90 degree weather, and a jacuzzi tub perfect for two! The decor is something very special that we (as avid travelers in our retirement years) have never seen elsewhere. Every morning we had a wonderful breakfast, cooked to order. My husband does not like omelet's, which was the featured item on Saturday, so Matthew offered eggs anyway he wanted. To offer something that was not even on the menu for the day was so nice. We felt very special. The waitress Mary was very delightful and helpful. She made sure our cups of coffee and juice were never less than half full. We have been at several high-dollar hotels and none could compare to the hospitality that we were given this weekend. In the evening we sat outside together sipping on our wine that was left in our room in the evening (compliments of the lodge) enjoying the beautiful back yard. The greatest surprise was our last morning. We informed Matthew that we had a long journey ahead of us and would be leaving well before breakfast and wanted to thank him for his hospitality. He asked what time we would be departing and we told him we would be leaving by 6:30 am. Much to our surprise, when we went down at 6:15 am, he was there and had made us scrambled eggs and bacon, and had coffee ready. We did not expect such great hospitality. We were very thankful to have a full warm breakfast before hitting the road for the long journey. As we left, my husband offered him a tip and he refused to accept it. He genuinely cared that we had a pleasant stay and that we were fed before we left. I cannot tell you how great it is in this time to have such amazing hospitality and warmth.
What a great place! My best friend from high school was getting married and I wanted to give them a special gift. I called the Lodge and spoke with the manager, Matthew. He was very enthusiastic about my best friend spending her wedding night at the Lodge. He went above and beyond to make sure they were surprised and that they had the very best time. He suggested that I bring in the gifts I had for them and leave them in his office until we all left for dinner, when he then put them in the room for us. When we came back, he not only had the gifts in the room but also had arranged the flowers we purchased into a vase for them, had home made cookies and strawberries with the champagne we purchased (yes, they even have champagne at the lodge), everything was perfect! We went down and thanked him. My friend told him they had to leave early the next morning (6:30 am) and would not be down for breakfast because breakfast starts at 7:30 am. They called me the next morning to tell me that Matthew had arrived extra early to make them their breakfast before their long drive back to Tennessee. These are the great "extras" that you can not get from a chain hotel. I cannot express our gratitude enough. The lodge is very beautiful. You wouldn't expect such a place in St Louis, and justly off the highway. It truly is a hidden gem. My friend had the most wonderful time on her most important day, all because of the the excellent customer service from Matthew and his staff at the Lodge at grants trail. I have told my hubby that we must have a weekend getaway here very soon.
We stayed at the Lodge at Grant's Trail during a recent return visit from the western US. When we looked the location up online, discovering they specialized in themed rooms, and having a CHRISTMAS Room, we agreed to BOOK IT!
SO glad we did!
First of all Matthew the inn keeper on staff was just delightful to talk with. Full of information about the location and genuinely excited to have us as guests. Since the lodge was not full, we had an opportunity to peek into other rooms too! WOW. Each room having a different inviting theme that just beckoned for a return visit to try them out.
We LOVED our stay in the Christmas room. Entirely decorated in detailed touches of old and new Christmas items. The only downside of this room is that it was on the small size, offering little space on the vanity and no closet. Otherwise it was wonderful to stay here, leaving the little lighted village on all night, lighting the fireplace (briefly...it was hot out) and turning the AC up so you get the feel of sleeping in winter under a thick Christmas Comforter. We were told the mattress was recently replaced and it did not disappoint. Very comfortable sleep.
The breakfast was also very nice. Perfectly prepared Eggs, Bacon, fresh fruit and pastries.
I mustn't forget the basket of crackers, cheese, wine and cookies left before bedtime for a late night snack. All the perfect little details to make our stay wonderful. Looking forward to planning a visit to this lodge again!
My husband and I stayed at The Lodge in the Mary Lincoln suite and it was absolutely gorgeous! It has the most amazing jacuzzi tub that fits 2 easily. We loved the rustic decor of the Lodge which made us feel warm and cozy. But it also has state of the art amenities. I also MUST mention the most mouthwatering cookies we received for a bedtime snack. Not only did we enjoy our time at the Lodge the GM Matthew made our stay extra special by finding out our interests and also our food likes and left in our room a hand written list of local antique shops including addresses and distances along with several local restaurant choices. We loved the feel of the lodge and the complimentary breakfast we were served was 5 star. Matthew made our time at the Lodge so special. We will definitely be back and next time we are bringing the entire family.
Grant's Trail Lodge hosted my daughter/son-in-law's wedding/reception. It was absolutely perfect! The wedding was performed outside in the patio/garden area and the reception was inside as well as outside. Everyone had a good time! Mary our event manager was absolutely the best. While we were all nervous about how everything would go Mary put us at ease right away. In addition to the great service Mary provided Denise our bartender was also fantastic and the food service manager and servers provided excellent service to our guests. They were all very courteous...we couldn't have asked for better service from them. So thank you Denise Stevenor from Orlando's, Melissa, Mary and Denise at the Lodge and the food service staff for everything!! And to top it off we booked all of the rooms at the lodge for the evening so we could just go to our rooms at the end of the evening and we enjoyed a very nice breakfast the next morning. While most weddings are memorable you have definitely made this wedding a beautiful memory for us.
